My story

Oliver’s journey has never been about the obstacles placed in his path; it has been about how he chooses to see the world.

Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just nine years old, he learned early on the discipline, resilience, and persistence it takes to navigate a lifelong condition. Years later, life tested his strength again, leading to the loss of his left eye.

Today, Oliver wears a prosthetic left eye with pride, a symbol of a battle already won.

Now, as he faces a new challenge with a disease in his remaining right eye, his vision of what truly matters has never been clearer.

That vision is filled with the faces of the people he loves most: his dedicated partner, Sophie, and their two beautiful children, seven-year-old Elliot and three-year-old Isaac.

When Oliver looks at Elliot’s bright, curious face or watches little Isaac take in the world with wide-eyed wonder, he doesn’t see limitations.
He sees an abundance of reasons to keep moving forward.

Every family laugh shared in their living room, every bedtime story with the children, and every new adventure with Sophie is a reminder to enjoy every moment and cherish the precious time we have together.

And this October, the journey becomes even more special, because Oliver won’t be taking it alone.
His seven-year-old son, Elliot, is joining him for the challenge.

Together, they will take on 62 miles throughout October, running 2 miles every day.
For Oliver, having Elliot by his side makes this challenge about more than the miles.

It is about creating memories together, teaching him that obstacles do not have to define us, and showing him that persistence, courage and love can carry us further than we ever thought possible.

And one day, when little Isaac reaches seven years old, he will join us too.

The hope is that this becomes something bigger than one challenge or one October.

It becomes a journey shared between father and sons — something they can look back on together and remember not the obstacles we faced, but the moments we chose to keep moving forward.

Every two-mile run with Elliot is a step towards that future. A future where Isaac will one day run alongside us, just as his big brother is doing now.
Every mile will represent another memory. Another conversation. Another laugh. Another moment together that we might otherwise have taken for granted.

Oliver is taking on Run 31 to turn his personal battles into a beacon of hope for others.

He is running to raise vital funds for cancer warriors and a wide array of charities dedicated to helping individuals and families navigating devastating, life-altering diseases.

He knows firsthand the weight of a heavy diagnosis, but he also knows the power of a community that stands together.

This team is built on pure motivation and unwavering persistence for every second we are here. Oliver’s remaining sight may face a shadow, but his spirit is blindingly bright.

And with Elliot running beside him, and the promise of Isaac joining them when he turns seven, these 62 miles carry something even more powerful: a father and his sons choosing to keep moving forward together.

By supporting this journey, you aren’t just donating to charity — you are joining a movement that celebrates life, defies the odds, and proves that love and determination can overcome any obstacle.
Let’s run. Let’s persist. Let’s make every second count.

62 miles. 31 days. 2 miles a day. Father and son. One incredible journey — with another little runner Isaac preparing to join in.

Welcome to our team.
